Job Purpose:
The main responsibilities of the ordering supervisor is to order auto spare parts, create accurate demand plans and forecasts, planning and organizing work, setting priorities, and making efficient use of available resources to attain the procurement objectives.
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Generating order suggestions and placement of periodic stock orders based on demand. Monitor supply fill rates and track changes in supply patterns to take preventive actions. Review purchase orders and availability with ordering officer team
  • Placement of Initial part orders for newly introduced products. Study stocking suggestions from the sales teams and place the required orders.  Take actions for abnormal demand situations by ordering for replenishment stocks and maintaining safety stocks
  • Monitor slow, fast and non-moving material for product life cycle patterns.  Keep track of inventory turns and take corrective actions when necessary
  • Maintain clean data by regularly checking the re-order categories and making necessary changes with IT. Monitor prices and update cost and selling prices as per policy.  Suppression, parts creation and accurate linking with alternate parts if available  
 
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years spare parts ordering experience
  • Forecasting and demand planning experience
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets, database and electronic parts catalogue
  • Knowledge of automobile assemblies and parts
  • Good working knowledge of English language
  • Team leader
